Hey everyone! My name is Amanda. I am a junior double-majoring in French and Spanish Education. I was a member of the Trigg County Marching Band in high school where I was in the percussion pit, in the clarinet section, and drum major. I'm also a sister of Sigma Alpha Iota, the women's music fraternity on campus. If you think your fun ended with graduation, think again! You don't know fun until you become a member of the Racer Band. We work extremely hard to be one of the nation's best college marching bands, but we have a lot of fun doing it! College is a whole new world, but you can be excited to know you'll start classes knowing over 250 of the coolest people on campus! I'm very excited to work with all of you and help make this one of the best clarinet sections in Racer Band history. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to call me any time over the summer! If I don't answer (because of work, etc.) I'll for sure give you a call back as soon as I can. I'm a very fun and approachable person, so feel free to come to me about anything! I'm so excited about meeting and working with all of you. :) Have a great summer and get excited about August!

Hey guys! I’m Sarah McKenzie and I will be joining Amanda and Cornelius as one of your clarinet section leaders! I’m a 2010 graduate of Trigg County High School. I marched clarinet all four years and I was clarinet section leader during my senior year. Now I’m starting my junior year here at MSU as a Secondary English Education major. This will be my third year marching with the Racer Band. Also, I’m a sister of Sigma Alpha Iota – the women’s music fraternity here on campus! Racer Band is super fun and an awesome way to meet new people. I mean, you meet 250+ of the coolest people on campus before you even start classes! The clarinet section is the where it’s at though and Amanda, Cornelius, and I are going to make sure that being a part of the 2012 Racer Band clarinet section is a super fun and exciting experience for all of you! If you ever need anything, whether it is over the summer or during the school year, I’m here for you. I’m a super fun and approachable person, so don’t be afraid to call, text, email, or shoot me a Facebook message! I promise that if I don’t answer right away, I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. See you in August!!

Hi. My name is Cornelius Hocker. I’m a music major and I absolutely love music. You will catch me humming tunes, harmonizing with every song on the radio, screaming when people sing our National Anthem, praising the Lord, and naming pitches of any sound that I hear. On that note, please be aware that I also have a life outside of music. Over the summer, I will be interning with WPSD Local 6. It’s the new station out of Paducah. In 10 years, I hope to be on a national platform, reporting the news, but more importantly, using my notoriety to spread my love of music. In the end, I’m doing everything for music. This is my fifth and final year of Racer Band. After this season, I hope I’ve taught you something and passed on my love of music to you. Get excited because I, along with the other section leaders, plan on making this the best year to be a part of the Racer Band Clarinet Section. If you have any questions about Racer Band or Murray State, don't hesitate to call, text, or message me on Facebook. See you in August.
