oMembers are asked to play the instrument with which they have

the most experience.

oSome section changes may be made on an as-needed basis.

oEntire instrument must be in working order

oInstrument must be cleaned and shined.

oAlways carry extra reeds, oil, etc.

oIf you check our MSU Equipment, you are responsible for any damage or loss

Racer band members are furnished marching mellophones. Our goal is to find a spot for everyone on their instrument of choice, but there are limited numbers of spots in each section based on equipment and talent level.  If we run short of instruments you maybe asked to play something else. We own 21 mellophones.  The mellophone music is traditionally the most challenging brass music.  Members must have previous mellophone experience.  We use F Yamaha mellophones.  We want members to use their own french horn mouthpieces.  We provide french horn mouth piece adapters.

Racer band members are furnished marching baritones. Our goal is to find a spot for everyone on their major instrument, but there are limited numbers of spots in each section based on equipment and talent level.  If we run short of instruments you maybe asked to play something else. We own 12 baritones. Members must provide their own mouthpiece.

We own 16 tubas. Members must provide their own mouthpiece.
