Racer band members are furnished marching mellophones. Our goal is to find a spot for everyone on his or her instrument of choice, but there are limited numbers of spots in each section based on equipment and talent level. If we run short of instruments you maybe asked to play something else. We own 26 mellophones. The mellophone section HAS the most challenging brass music. Members must have previous mellophone experience. We use F Yamaha mellophones. We provide French horn mouthpiece adapters but not French horn mouthpieces.

Hey, everyone! My name is Bobbi Barnett and I will be a co-section leader for the 2013 Racer Band Mellophone section. I am a graduate of Pinckneyville Community High School in Pinckneyville, Illinois and am currently pursuing a degree in Music Education here at Murray State. Hey guys!!! My name is Craig Taylor and I’m an Elementary Education major from Russellville, KY. I’m also a proud brother of the Gamma Delta Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha.
