Welcome to all returning and potential members!

We are really excited about the upcoming season, this year we will be AMAZING… duh.  Not only will this year include football games and Festival of Champions…but we will also be doing a High School Tour.  Feel free to contact either Amy or Cameron with any questions and/or concerns. Looking forward to meeting and re-greeting everyone! Have an amazing rest of the summer!!!












Racer band members are furnished marching mellophones. Our goal is to find a spot for everyone on his or her instrument of choice, but there are limited numbers of spots in each section based on equipment and talent level.  If we run short of instruments you maybe asked to play something else. We own 26 mellophones.  The mellophone section HAS the most challenging brass music.  Members must have previous mellophone experience.  We use F Yamaha mellophones.  We provide French horn mouthpiece adapters but not French horn mouthpieces.

Hey guys my name Cameron Vile and I will be a co-section leader for this year’s Mellophone section in Racer Band!  I am originally from Boonville, IN and am a 2008 graduate from Boonville High School.  I am currently a Senior Music Education Major.  I’m looking forward to an amazing year with all the vets and rookie members.  It’s going to another great season learn your music quickly so we can be the best section on the field this year.  If you have any questions feel free to contact me at either Cameron.vile@murraystate.edu, cfvile@gmail.com, or on Facebook.  Have a safe, relaxing, and awesome summer, but be ready to work when we get back.

Hey!! My name is Craig Taylor and I will be a co-section leader for this year’s Mellophone section in Racer Band!!!! I graduated from Russellville High School in Russellville, KY. I’m currently an Elementary Education major here at Murray State. I’m super excited to finally meet all the new freshmen and returning vets this next year! This year is going to be AMAZING!!!!
