Mellophone

Welcome to all returning and potential members!

We are really excited about the upcoming season, this year we will be AMAZING… duh.  Not only will this year include football games and Festival of Champions…but we will also be doing a High School Tour.  Feel free to contact Brittany with any questions and/or concerns. Hi…my name is Brittany Hall…and I will l be your co-section leader for this year’s RACER BAND 2009!!! I am originally from Russellville, KY…and I graduated in 2007.  I am a junior here at MSU, and I am a nursing major. I am looking forward to seeing all of you at band camp. Hey guys my name is Cory Mullins and I will be your co-section leader for the Fiery Latin Cookn’ Mello line next fall.  I am originally from Murray, KY and a graduate of Calloway County High.  I am currently a junior and majoring in Racer Band.  I look forward to seeing all the vets back next year and meeting all of the new members.  Have a great summer ahead and if you have any questions you call Brittany cause I won’t respond.

Racer band members are furnished marching mellophones. Our goal is to find a spot for everyone on his or her instrument of choice, but there are limited numbers of spots in each section based on equipment and talent level.  If we run short of instruments you maybe asked to play something else. We own 21 mellophones.  The mellophone section HAS the most challenging brass music.  Members must have previous mellophone experience.  We use F Yamaha mellophones.  We provide French horn mouthpiece adapters but not French horn mouthpieces.
