RB UNIFORM TEAM


Hey guys! My name is Laura Nash and I am currently a junior nursing major, and this will be my third year as a member of Racer Band!  I am also a proud sister of Sigma Alpha Iota women’s music fraternity!  I am very excited to be your uniform officer chairperson for the 2012 Racer Band Season!  As uniform chairperson I am here to help you with all of your uniform needs, so do not hesitate to ask me or the other uniform officers for help about uniforms or anything else you need!  This year is going to be one of the best yet for Racer Band, so get excited and be ready to have an awesome time and meet some awesome people!  Looking forward to meeting all of you!!!

Hi! I’m Chris Patel, a senior Elementary Education major from Russellville, KY. I’m also a brother of the Gamma Delta Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha here at Murray State. This is my fifth year in Racer Band, and I’m very excited to be one of your 2012 Leaders! As apart of the Uniform Team, my obvious job is to help you with your uniform, but I’m here to make you feel as welcome as I felt my first Racer Band season. If you ever need anything, please don’t hesitate to introduce yourself to me by texting, calling, emaling, or even facebooking me. I’m always available! Racer Band is a team; we’re all here to help each other, even if the issue has nothing to do with Racer Band. Hey! I'm Toni Clark, and this is my fourth year in Racer Band! I'm going for a BA in Music to be a Music Therapist one day! I'm from Muhlenberg County, KY and I'm a proud sister of Sigma Alpha Iota! I'm so excited to be one of your 2012 Racer Band Leaders. As a Uniform Officer I can help you with your uniform, but my goal is to make you feel as welcome as I felt as a freshmen Racer Band member! Uniform Policies

oClean white band shoes (must be band shoes)

We will have back up shoes that you can purchase for $40

You must have band shoes to perform

Missed performance = Lost stipend

Bottom Line—Hang on to your shoes

oClean uniform

oHat w/plume (if applicable)

oClean white gloves

Available game days for $3.00(Stipend deduction)

oHair must be cut above collar or tucked inside hat

.Complete uniform should be worn at all times unless the director gives special permission

.Uniform jackets and sashes are stored at the stadium; everything else is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. 

.Cleaning the uniform room is the responsibility of all members

                         No shoes or other articles in your uniform bag!

.Only drink clear liquids while in uniform (water/sprite, etc.)

.No eating in uniform unless officially approved (officially = Fannin)

.Racer Band T-shirts are issued to all members and should be worn to all performances and events as they are sometimes used as uniforms.

.DO NOT LOSE YOUR BAND SHIRT!

.Lose your uniform (or any parts)=Buy your uniform/part

.Do not wash your band uniform!



Marching shoes

All members must have white band shoes. These shoes must be band shoes, not nursing shoes or any other substitute.  Please contact me if you have a unique size that inhibits you from getting band shoes.  If already have white band shoes you are all set! No need to get new ones.  The cost of new shoes is $30.00(TBA). If you need new shoes there are two ways to pay:

2. Bring cash or a check to camp made out to Robert Kapp and Associates.


Shoes will be fitted at registration.   All shoes will be shipped directly to Murray State.  They will be passed out at practice.  All shoes must be paid and fitted by Aug 15th.  After that date contact and place your own private order. (You will pay more, because of shipping/etc.)  There is a huge stipend reduction for not having the correct footwear.


Color Guard will make a separate shoe, which will be handled at camp. (Approx. cost $30)


Band T-shirts

    Band T-Shirts are part of the MSU Racer Band Uniform and are to be worn at all performances.  Always wear your 2010 Band T-Shirt under your uniform.  We will sometimes use the Band T-Shirts as our uniform with jeans or shorts. The 2010 Racer Band shirt is free.  T-shirt designs will be posted prior to camp.  There may be two or three designed to vote on.  Shirts will be passed out at check on the 15th.


     Section shirts should be designed now!  Contact your section leader to make t-shirt design suggestions.  This is not required, but a lot of sections make section shirts.  Monies should be collected on Aug 15th.  Contact your section leader for shirt costs.  No one is required to purchase section shirts.


Gloves

We have gloves for sale for wind players before each game ($3.00-stipend deductions).

To help with uniform congestion, we have a new uniform plan!

   

It  is important hang your uniform correctly up after each performance (we assume you are responsible adults).  Take the uniform out of the uniform bag and let it air out after each performance.  If your uniform is wrinkled(Hang it up!), you will be fined $10.00.  If your uniform gets dirty or wrinkled, It is important to take it to Boones cleaners. Racer Band will pay for it as long as you email Mr Fannin for approval.  Be sure to pick up before Boones closes for the weekend. Members should not iron or clean their own uniforms.


Depending on weather, the uniforms may need cleaning sooner.  You may be asked to return uniforms to the uniform room.  If it looks like rain, plan on bring garment bag/Hanger/hat box to the uniform room


Percussion and sousaphones may not store uniforms, shoes, hats in our storage area (you will be fined $10.00).


Guard, check with your section leaders!  You may have a different schedule.
