These condemned acts include sexual assault including rape, fondling, incest, and statutory rape; domestic violence; dating violence; stalking; and sexually exploitative behavior. Our responsibility is to proactively seek ways to educate and inform our campus population about the dangers of sexual harassment and sex discrimination as well as to inform the campus about how unlawful discrimination impacts the campus environment. To this end we have partnered with United Educators to provide an annual free mandatory online training for all faculty, staff and students which is available to all campus users through Canvas. After moving in, follow the schedule based listed above. FROM HOUSING: For those coming on the 4th that live in Elizabeth, White and Hester, they will be able to move into their permanent space. The rest will move into Elizabeth. This will be between 10 am and 12 noon on Saturday, August 4th. We will also allow the students who cannot move into their permanent space to put items in their permanent assignment. Please remind these students that they will pick up a key from the desk, move their items in, and then return the key to the front desk. On the 6th, from 7pm til 9pm, we will move students who are in temporary spaces in Elizabeth to their permanent space. The students you have coming to campus on the 6th will also be allowed to move into their permanent space that night. What to Bring: It’s up you, but it would be wise to bring all your stuff for the semester when you come to camp. You will be moving in earlier than other regular students. Some members in the past have chosen to have their parents bring everything on Sunday, August 12th since we don’t practice until 1 PM. That’s also when many other students arrive – it can become a traffic jam. Guard, Percussion, and Leaders living in temporary housing from August 4th-6th Bring everything with you. You will be able to store your belongings in your actual room for the fall, while living in temporary housing for 3 days. However, you should aim to pack a separate small suitcase (include bedding) to live out of for 3 days so you don’t have to take all your belongings into temporary housing. Trust us – it’s a lot easier. Off Campus Housing: If you are a commuter or live off campus and need housing assistance for camp, please email Gabby Rapp at grapp1@murraystate.edu. HELP We need help moving drums, pit, guard equipment. If you are free and can help......let us know. Move in is the #1 priority, but any help 10am-noon will be greatly appreciated. Marching Shoes: All band members must have WHITE band shoes, not nursing shoes or any other substitute. If you already have white band shoes, you are all set – no need to get new ones. If you need shoes, you will need to purchase a pair at check-in. The cost will be around $32.
If you need new shoes, bring cash or checks to check-in made out to Robert Kapp and Associates. All shoes will be shipped directly to Murray State and passed out at a rehearsal. All shoes must be fitted and paid for by Aug 8th. After that date, contact a Uniform Officer so we can place your own private order. (You will pay more, because of shipping/etc.) There is a huge penalty for not having the correct footwear. Color Guard will have a separate shoe – this is handled at camp (approx. $25) Check with guard staff for details. We are currently working with the Great Beginnings and Honors folks to work on a few things, but here is a first draft of the camp and 1st week RB schedule. All is subject to change, but this is pretty much our annual schedule. (The schedule may take a minute to load ) Dining Services:
Food is provided for you at Winslow for FREE during camp! If you are living off-campus you may still make use of the free meal plan during band camp (you don’t have to have a meal plan for this.) This is a great deal – take advantage. Check the schedule to see when you can and cannot eat at Winslow – some breakfasts & lunches are on your own. Practice starts at 9:00am and sometimes 9:30am. To eat breakfast, you need to wake up early enough to meet the schedule listed below. If you plan to catch an extra few minutes of sleep each morning, and you miss the breakfast hours for Winslow, be sure to eat something prior to coming to practice in the morning (on your own). You might want to have some water and breakfast bars/snacks in your room. You will get a meal card when you arrive to camp. You are assigned a meal card number and we track your meal usage at camp. You can only swipe yourself in with meal card. If you lose your card, see an officer ($5 loss card fee). 8-4-18 Saturday 5:00-6:00 Dinner 8-5-18 Sunday 10:30-12:00 Brunch 5:00-6:00 Dinner 8-6-18 Monday 7:00-8:30 Breakfast 12:00-1:00 Lunch 5:00-6:00 Dinner (Section Leaders and Barcs First Meal) 8-7-18 Tuesday 7:00-8:30 Breakfast 12:00-1:00 Lunch 5:00-6:00 Dinner 8-8-18 WEDS 7:00-8:30 Breakfast 12:00-1:00 Lunch 5:00-6:00 Dinner (WW’s and Brass First Meal) 8-9-18 THURS 7:00-8:30 Breakfast 12:00-1:00 Lunch 5:00-6:00 Dinner 8-10-18 FRI 7:00-8:30 Breakfast 12:00-1:00 Lunch 5:00-6:00 Dinner 8-11-18 SAT On your own for breakfast 12:00 Lunch 5:30-6:00 Dinner WE usually eat at CSFB with the rest of the students 8-12-18 Meal Plans start—On your own 5:00 Racer band Picnic Lovett Quad If you are bringing a car to campus--Please register it before coming to band camp 2018-2019 Vehicle Registration is now available through the myGate parking channel. Multiple vehicles may be registered on the same account; however, only one vehicle registration per account may be on campus concurrently. Registration is available on the myGate Home Page under the Parking Channel.
Below is an abbreviated synopsis of Murray State Parking Regulations for faculty, staff, and students parking on Murray State’s main campus. Any questions should be directed to Parking Services by calling (270) 809-4812 or email msu.parkingoffice@murraystate.edu . A full copy of Murray State Parking Regulations may be accessed at www.murraystate.edu/parking by clicking on the Regulations tab then “Parking Regulations” (2018-19 Regulations will be available online by September 1, 2018, until that time, please continue to follow the 2017-18 Regulations.) ● Multiple vehicles may be registered on one account ● Only one vehicle registration per account may be parked concurrently on campus ● No hangtags or dashboard tags will be necessary, as the license plate of the vehicle is the zone access for that vehicle ● Pull-through parking and backing into a parking space is prohibited. Vehicles must be parked with rear license plate visible from the main lane of travel at all times. ● Parking citations may be appealed within 5 school days of the issuance of the parking citation. Failure to appeal within five school days forfeits the right to appeal the citation. ● Vehicles are subject to being booted/towed (at owner’s expense) if they fail to register the vehicle properly and/or have been issued $150 or more of unpaid parking citations within a continuous 12-month period, regardless of whether the citations have been appealed. Continued failure to comply with parking regulations may result in parking privileges being revoked and/or other actions as deemed appropriate by Murray State University. ● Visitors to campus may register online at https://murraystate.nupark.com/portal DEPARTMENTAL GUESTS ● Departmental training for guest parking access will be available online through a departmental portal as Part II of the implementation of the new system. (An actual date will be provided at a later time). ● Once the portals are available, Parking Services will offer training to any interested department. If your department would like a departmental portal, please send a letter from your department head or dean to Parking Services stating your desire for a departmental portal. ● Until portals are available, Parking Services will work one-on-one with your department to meet your parking needs as we currently do. ● If you would like to schedule a time to meet with a Parking Services staff member to discuss your questions, please contact Francie Ray or Jessica Adkins at 270-809-48 DEPARTMENTAL LOADING ZONE ACCESS ● Departments needing Loading Zone Access for the 2018-19 academic year should send their requests to Parking Services via letter fax to 270-809-3664 or email to msu.parkingoffice@murraystate.edu. Please include the following information for everyone requesting and/or using the loading zone access: o Name o M# o Driver’s License # o Make of Vehicle o Model of Vehicle o License Plate # ● Loading zone permits will not be issued. The new system allows for access permissions to be added to vehicle registrations. Please remember that no one may have loading zone access without a valid vehicle registration. ● Until the new system is live, please continue to use your current Loading Zone permits, as they are valid until August 31, 2018. |
