Meet the 2022 Drum Majors!

Kaytie Schmidt

Hey y’all!! My name is Kaytie Schmidt and I am one of your Drum Majors again this year! I am super pumped for Racer Band this season and to get to see everyone again soon! A little about me: I’m a senior Elementary Education Major and I minored in Spanish. I’m about to finish practicum and dive into student teaching and I’d love to talk to you about it if you want to hear some funny stories! I also love to do lots of other things in my free time such as cook, crochet, sew, paint, sing, dance and act! I’m a proud sister of Sigma Alpha Iota (the women’s music fraternity on campus) and have served as Editor and Corresponding Secretary! I can’t wait to get to know everyone this year and spend my last Racer Band season with a great group of leaders and members. Shoes up!

Sam Mitchell

Hey there, I’m Sam Mitchell and I’m going to be one of the drum majors for this season. I’m from right here in Murray and graduated from Murray High School in 2020. I’m a journalism major in my third year here at Murray State. I’m really excited for this season and above all else I want everyone to have fun.
