READ ME--schedule/instructions
Procedures and General Info
Before arriving...
Eat and drink water
Use sunscreen
Put on your 2022 Racer Band shirt.
Bring…(Store in Uniform room neatly)
Instrument
Uniform in garment bag
Hat box
White shoes and tall WHITE socks
Uniform white gloves
Setup (Leaders only)
Put up FOC signs
Hang flags from flag pole
Move benches along track
Lay/check new hashes
Pick up trash around concourse and field
Organize water station (3 tables, trash cans, etc.)
Move trophies-- separate prelims and finals (check program)
Organize carts
Place blue banners on barricades
Help with concession (Insert names of concessions chairs here)
When you arrive at the stadium…
Go to uniform room 25 minutes before your shift
Stack instrument and hat box with section (NEATLY)
Put shoes in garment bag (THIS TIME ONLY) and stay with your section
Double check all uniform parts and numbers
Stations
Be at your stations 10 minutes early. The previous shift may have special info that you need! Please do not leave a shift early-- wait for your replacement! Seth or another officer will be around to check stations.
REMINDER: Band directors and competing students are at a high stress level. SMILE! :)
AFTER Prelims
All friends and family must clear stadium (see them outside)
OFFICERS meet at track level at 3:30pm to clear the stadium
All golf carts need to be parked inside of the stadium by 3:30pm.
BEFORE Finals
Bring uniform with shako and plume
Change at 7:45pm (use bathrooms, uniform room, etc.--- just be FAST!)
Warm up at 8:00pm
GATE WORKERS- warm up on your own
CONCOURSE WORKERS- do not leave until confirmed with Dr. Blanco
Guard must get a full 30 minute warm-up
Mellos will give Dr. Blanco warm-up signs at 7:45 pm
We enter at 8:35pm from North Gate to stadium (Guard, Battery, amd Sousaphones)
WW and Brass enter from underneath the Stadium
AFTER Finals
AWARDS PEOPLE- Go to track! (Check this manual to see if you are presenting an award)
No hacking or playing!
Cheer for all bands-- be respectful.
HELP CLEAN UP! Check your section’s area!
Gather uniform and take everything home-- REST AND SEE YOU ALL ON Thursday!
Clean-Up (Trumpets, Officers, Section Leaders, and BARCs)
Clean and organize stations
Pick up taped hash marks on the turf and put away all yard markers
Take down flags and bring them to the press box (level 6)
Remove all blue MSU banners from barriers on track (do not tear or lose these!)
Turn in all golf cart keys to Skyler.
Officers:
Put up T-shirts
Clear the press box
Pick-up and organize all signs for entire site
Take all press box supplies to FA (band office)
Double check entire site for signs, trash, etc.
Problems?
Put Skyler’s number in your phone: (812) 629-3644. Call him immediately with any issues.
Put Mr. Fannin’s number in your phone: (270) 210-1429. Please limit calls-- he will be very busy in the press box. Include your name in all texts-- NO VOICEMAILS. Contact Skyler or another officer with issues before contacting Mr. Fannin, unless it is a true emergency.
Faculty (Dr. Blanco and Dr. Hill) will be around to assist you.
**** No MSU students, HS students, or directors are allowed in the press box.****
