PEP BAND AUDITION INFORMATION

PEP Band for the 2022-2023 will have 29 auditioned spots for payment
​17 Brass, 2 Rhythm, 12 Woodwind

All 29 musician positions will be compensated $20.00 PER GAME throughout the entire season
​24 games X $20.00 = $480 (potential for season)  **Doubleheaders will then be $40.00

If selected for the 2022-2023 Racer Pep Band, you will be UNDER CONTRACT with Murray State University and the position will be treated as an actual job, meaning you MUST show up to each game.  There will be a very short list of approved substitute players that will also be auditioned. This audition will also secure your position in the traveling pep band for the MVC and NCAA tournaments

DRUM SET - 1 Principal Player and 1 Alternate Player
BASS GUITAR - 1 Principal Player and 1 Alternate Player
TRUMPET - 6 Principal Players and 3 Alternate Players
MELLOPHONE - 3 Principal Players and 1 Alternate Player
TROMBONE/BARITONE/BASS TROMBONE - 6 Principal Players and 2 Alternate Players
TUBA - 2 Principal Players and 1 Alternate Player
SAXOPHONE - 5 Principal Players and 2 Alternate Players
CLARINETS - 4 Principal Players and 1 Alternate Player
FLUTE - 3 Principal Players and 1 Alternate Player

*If you do not get selected, you are still able to play at any home games as a volunteer as long as you attend the rehearsal(s) as scheduled.

Principal players will be expected to be at ALL scheduled games, and must arrange a substitute from the approved alternate players in the event of an absence.  1 unexcused absence will result in removal and replacement

Audition and Application Information:

Auditions for posted positions will be held on Monday, October 24th from 6:30-8:30PM in the Jazz Suite
to audition, please fill out the audition form by Friday, October 21st @ 9PM.  Once the auditions close, I will send you an audition window for your time.
