2026 Color Guard Audition Information

Thank you for your interest in the Racer Band Color Guard! We are excited that you are considering becoming part of the spirit and tradition of the Murray State University Racer Band.

Audition videos for our Pre-Game Show are due Wednesday, July 15. To be considered for the Racer Band Color Guard, all videos must be submitted to: [email protected]

Audition Videos Link

A minimum of two seasons of color guard experience is required to audition for the RBCG. We accomplish a great deal in a short amount of time, so it is important that members are prepared to work hard, learn quickly, and contribute positively to the team environment. Applicants should have a basic understanding of spinning and performing fundamentals.

Team Placement
All students who successfully audition and are selected for the color guard will earn:
  • A spot on the flag line
  • A field position for the Pre-Game Show
Performance spots for halftime productions will be earned throughout the season based on each member’s ability to accurately and cleanly learn drill and choreography.

Please note: we are not looking for perfection! We value students who are willing to learn, work hard, collaborate with teammates, and grow throughout the season!
